The Woodlands, began in 1974, situated primarily in Montgomery County, Texas, with a small portion bordering Houston in Harris County, spans across 43.9 square miles (113.6 km2), as per data from the United States Census Bureau. Out of the total area, 43.3 square miles (112.1 km2) make up land, while 0.58 square miles (1.5 km2), or 1.32%, comprises water.
